Seminars can be booked through the UMAA covering a multitude of subjects. Seminars are the perfect way to introduce your students to new concepts, applications and teaching methods as taught by the UMAA. A seminar consists of a stand up presentation on one of the many subjects avaliable. They usually last for around 3 hours and include practical, hands on demonstrations as well as in depth work on the thoeory of martial arts systems and the application of techniques. Seminars can be tailoured to suit your classes needs and are charged at £25 per person attending on the basis of a minimum of 10 people attending. These are open to schools of any style as an introduction to the system of Wing Chun Jin Kuen.
The Sui Lum Tao form
This seminar offers an in depth analysis and explanation of the concepts and principles of the first form in the Wing Chun system. Introduces varying methods of training the Form including flowing and Jin energies. It also discusses the problems that most people have with structures like Bong Sao and how to improve basic drills
The Chum Kui Form
This seminar discusses the concepts of the form, how it couples with the first form and its basic applications including footwork, Kicking and how to use the Yi (mind) and Chi (energy) when tracking the target.
Loi Lay Hoi Song Lut sao Jic Chung
This seminar develops the concept of ‘Absorbing or redirecting what comes, follow what goes, when the hands are free, thrust them forwards’ by introducing varying methods to drills you may already be practicing, e.g Dan Chi Sao. This seminar also deals with the concept of riding force and sinking force.
Muk Yong jong Fut (The Wooden Man)
Here we take you through the entire form and discuss its applications and methods of footwork, torque generation, sticking and striking. A popular subject even with those not practicing the Wing Chun system.
Chin Na and Wing Chun drills
This seminar offers an insight into the methods of Joint Manipulation that can flow from the structures of the Wing Chun system. Essential trapping and joint manipulation skills all Wing Chun exponents should know.
